parallax games

traditional games at their finest

Parallax Games has been serving the Bismarck-Mandan area for over 10 years and is under new ownership and management as of October 2020. We hope to bring the same great selection along with a new focus on the customer experience and a cleaner store.

We want to continue to provide excellence in our services to the community with both structured and unstructed play. While we offer a wide variety of scheduled tournaments we would be happy to help you set one up too. If you have a game you want to showcase or just get together with a group of friends please come and play any time. If you want it to be a little more formal we can help organize your tournament. Please stop down if you want to add anything to our calendar and we’ll even help you advertise it.

I have almost ten years of experience in policing and corrections and have done many other jobs as well. I’ve been a dishwasher, salesman, mailman, hot air balloon crew, guitar teacher, direct support professional, and more. When I decided I was done with politics and corporate attitudes I knew I had to be my own boss. I loved card and tabletop games and wanted in on the action. I worked with Parallax’s previous owner for almost two years before becoming part owner myself and I have never been happier.

When I’m not at work I enjoy playing all manner of games, listening to and playing the heaviest metal music, painting, reading, cooking, spending time with my wife, three cats, and my bearded dragon.

Alex Piyamahunt

Alex has been my business partner throughout this endevour and has done so much for me and our amazing community. Armed with a master’s degree, incredible wit, and an uncomparable set of skills he has opened up so many more possibilities for Parallax in the last year than anyone else in our history. He is a genius in all things business and marketing.

When he’s not making all the gears turn behind the scenes (and in public view as well) Alex enjoys reading manga, playing video games and board games, sleeping, and being the best tank in all of Final Fantasy XIV.
